ok...Everyone knows my fav quote: "You look so cool. You always look so cool." ~ Fitzgerald It is important because it is the line that shows (oblivious) Tom that Daisy loves Gatsby. It is also important because once you are in "The Gatsby Club" you can use it to tell people that you love them without non-club members knowing what you are saying! Woot!
The mind controls our thoughts, feelings, desires, and abilities. Take, for example, writing. If ones confidence is lacking, then the ability to write will not come easily. A wall will be produced, and failure will be inevitable. On the flip side, if one has confidence in the ability to write, he/she will be able to produce a noteworthy piece of writing.
Practice makes perfect, but nobody's perfect, so why practice? -Kurt Cobain
A person's abilities is only theirs when they practice. To achieve success, it is important to keep trying and practice. It is said that no one is perfect but do we have to be? You can live knowing that you did good and became successful and that you tried to aim for perfection without actually achieving it.
I saw this qoute in a book in Barnes and Noble a couple days ago. It is a longer one, but is full of meaning and really resignated with me.... (There are many interpretations) "If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway... You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness;they may be jealous; Be happy anyway... You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway" - Mother Teresa Many have the tendency to dwell on the neagative things that could happen rather than what is right in front of them. This could cause them to hinder their potential in life because of a "what if" mentality that causes many dangers. Learning to let go, not caring about what others think and relying on your talents and who you are can be extremely hard and may seem impossible, but as Mother Teresa brought out "in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway." Those fears you have and the people that may or may not care about the things you do, won't change who you are unless you trust yourself enough to make the descion whether or not to let them. P.S. I am sorry it is sooo long and I know that I am going to need a lot of practice on this, especially to learn how to condense things, but I guess this is a good start. Just to write. Thank You! :)
“All good things in life take hard work to achieve.” -Mr. Meyer
Everybody wants something out of life, maybe even more than one thing. But you must work at it and put in effort in order to get it. If you want to be a better leader you have to work at it and improve your skills one at a time. You won't become a better leader overnight, but you will if you put time and effort into it. This is important then, because it applies to everything in life whether you want to be a NFL star or a teacher that helps hundreds of students in a lifetime.
"Dogs never bite me. Just humans." - Marilyn Monroe
This quote shows that no matter what happens, humans tend to be the ones to make others angry. When something goes good here comes a human taking a big chunk of your cake, or they tend to take a bad situation and push it to horrible. Say I slipped and fell, it would suck (especially if I had on something new), but I would just get up and dust it off. On the other hand, if someone pushed me and I fell, then a fight would break out.
Although this is late and I do not expect to recieve extra credit (although it would be nice (; LOL!), I wanted to share a quote that I discovered! You may already know it! (;
"To find yourself, Think for yourself." (Socrates)
Comments: It's short,sweet, and too the point. I could way over-analyzed this but I think the basic meaning shines through for everyone!
